I've done a lot in my life, I've traveled to over 20 countries on business and pleasure and lived in 4 of them, such as Dubai , Brazil, Hong Kong, Turkey, Philippines, Chile, Mexico and Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, Bermuda, Barbados, Jamaica and Ghana. I have worked in health care all of my life mostly in medical technology development and as an RN. I am fortunate in that I feel what I do for a living is a calling more than a job. I grew up in Tennessee, a mountain boy who roamed the hills, hiked the mountains, fished and built my own rafts.



I have two sons, both of whom have grown into fine young men. Ben, the younger lives in Sarasota, graduating from App State after returning from two combat tours with the Marines in Iraq. I recently wrote a story about the emotions of a parent and veteran of sending their own child off to war that was incorporated into part of a play called "Deployed". I also have two grandchildren a granddaughter and a newly arrived grandson by my eldest son Jeff and his wife who recently relocated from Boston to near Charlotte.



I love to ride for the mental clarity and to experience a closeness to the natural surroundings. I feel alive when riding, a zen like focus in the moment yet conscious of the beauty around me. Riding the Blue Ridge is like being in the world's largest cathedral.
