I Would Describe Myself As
I thought I would write a blog, to share my ideas on relationships...most of the people I know have, what I consider a controlling type of relationship. It seems to me that one partner in the relationship holds the power. By this I mean that they kind of make the rules. I seem to have my own idea of how a relationship should work...it goes something like this.
Two people are living their lives and have their own friends and activities, work, etc. Then these two people meet and fall madly in love and get married. Now it seems to me that they are two separate entities before the marriage, but when they get married they seem to morph into one. I believe that when getting married, the two people should maintain their previous lives independent of each other and create a third life or entity, which is the marriage relationship. So you may have your own friends and/or activites and she may have the same. Then there can be shared friends/activities. Why does marriage somehow become a dictatorship, instead of a partnership?
I think if my partner wanted to go play golf, then he should go play golf...why is that bad? I hear women say all the time, "I don't let him do it"... I don't get it...If you love him and he feels happy doing it then, what is the problem. Shouldnt I want him to be happy? I'm sure that if he is happy, I am going to be happier too??? Isn't that what love is?
Maybe I'm from some other planet, or a mutant that was supposed to be on Venus, but ended up on Mars? I guess I am more secure than most and not that needy.
I am employed as a professional in Sales, I have a BFA and am also an artist. I also own a company designing and mfg. products for the dog industry. I am a feminine woman with a mix of tomboy and I move easily between the two. I am trying to change my work lifestyle, so that I can get away from the "corporate" environment and do the things I love to do. I would rather live "happy" than rich.
I love horseback riding, canoeing and want to whitewater (no death wish), kayak...one of my favorite things to do is go to creek beds and look for fossils and rocks. I love walking in the woods, and would love to live there too. I love power tools and am a beginner woodworker. I also think it would be cool to drive a bulldozer/backhoe! I have in the past done target shooting with guns and compound bows, and would enjoy getting involved in that again.
I am also taking a motorcycle classes to get my endorsement...clear the roads!! I have my permit!
II have a great sense of humor, and a love of children and animals. I do transport and fundraising for dog rescue. I am a Christian and would love to meet same.
What makes you happy?
I am very happy already. My life is very nice and I feel a sense of contentment. There is something however, missing...something that I long for. Its not something I "need" to be happy, but something I "want".
I don't care about material things. I don't care about status, none of that impresses me. I have so much respect for someone who pulled themselves up and overcame adversity. I care that there are thousands of animals that die everyday and to most people its no big deal. People are starving all over the world and somehow in our media driven culture, having a nice car is more important.
I'm impressed with someone who in some way tries to make a change...even if its small. 'll never stop world hunger, or save all the babies dying of AIDS. I will though, save a few dogs and cats ...its a small change to some, but to me its huge...saving a life is the greatest gift I have ever received...
Of course initially, there is a physical attraction to someone, we all have that. However I have to say, I am more interested and attracted to your heart...if that sounds like you, send me a note.
