Hello, thanks for checking me out. I should start by saying, that if you don't like women that are strong and independent (though not to be mistaken as wanting to wear the pants in the relationship - which I don't), then you might want skip right over....
I must also admit upfront that have a sassy streak, and have a very sarcastic sense of humor. I have a tendency to say what everyone else might be thinking, but are too afraid to say it out loud, which generally results in uncontrollable laughter. However, I do exercise a great deal of discretion and discernment. Most of the time. Really. I have often been judged (unfairly) as "intimidating", but my bark is much louder than my bite - and if you manage to get past the safeguarded exterior, and I actually let you in, then we could have fun. Oh, and I know it's a bad habit, and though I try to be more careful in front of children, I do say bad words sometimes.
I am employed full-time as an Executive Assistant and support multiple partners and staff for one of the Big Four accounting firms in downtown Los Angeles, and commute by train. Unfortunately, I have long days, but for now, it is what it is. Please note: I am not a boring accountant, and I am only working until I win the lotto.
I was born and raised in California, in a traditional Christian family, and though I would have preferred to have gotten married first, I am a single mom by choice, (through foster parenting and adoption) to a very special little girl, who is the light of my life. As many of you know, it isn't easy being a single parent, but it has been an honor taking responsibility of a child who had a very bleak future, and being able to turn that life completely around by providing what was needed the most - an abundance of love, nurturing, and encouragement, all towards securing the best possible outcome. We are strong, and we stick together.
Currently, my Dad lives with us - watching our parents age sure isn't easy, but he continues to be in relatively good health for his age, and gets around well, though I do keep a close eye on him. Much to my chagrin, he still drives, but he has been, and continues to be a very supportive dad/papa, and a huge help with my daughter; we are a small, but mighty family unit.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, relaxing, hanging out, sharing a great meal, and just being together. We are also annual passport holders for Disneyland Resort, so you know what that means.
I am pretty low-key and laid-back for the most part, but can get excitable/wound-up every now and then, and would appreciate a steady head and hand from time to time. If that also means telling me that I am being unreasonable, or I need to be put in my place, I need someone who isn't afraid to do just that.
I am basically looking for someone to share a normal life with, no huge or unrealistic expectations - I am more of a homebody (vs. big world traveler) and just want busy with life, family and kids, their activities and the milestones, family vacations. I know that single parents are going to say that their child(ren) come first, which I agree, and is an absolute given, but at the same time feel it's also important for the success of a relationship to make and take time for each other as a couple, at least date nights here and there, and stolen moments.
