So, here I go...my big attempt at describing myself to catch your attention (and keep it).
First things first...
I'm not here for a hookup or booty call or to be the one for you to walk on. I'm too old for hookups and I've been walked on enough.
Thankfully, being walked on, lied to, cheated on, and so on (yes, there's more) hasn't made me too bitter and I'm still willing to give love a go. The past is the past. I'm about futures.
I'm not your average woman. I am educated and independent. I work hard and I like to play hard. I bought my first motorcycle in June and had never driven a motorcycle in my life (ridden plenty of times). A month later, I rode 500 miles in the Colorado Rockies, 4000 miles later, I'd say I took to it like a fish in water. Unfortunately, the riding days are most likely over for a couple months at least, but that will just give me time to get to know you before I decide if I want to ride with you when the riding days come around again. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty but I'm also one to get dressed up for a night on the town too. I am a good person, loyal (almost to a fault sometimes), loving, and caring with a good head on my shoulders. I am sarcastic and often brutally honest but, for those I care about, I am a ride or die kinda gal. I have a good gut instinct and can typically spot a 'player' a mile away. With that being said, I'm not in to games, drama, lies, cheaters or anything of the like. So, if these things are what you're about, stop reading and move on.
I want what most any other person out there wants. To love and be loved. I believe when you find that connection you've been looking for, you'll know. The universe has a funny way of doing that.
I've been divorced for over 15 years, with a couple of long term relationships since then that have failed for a multitude of reasons. Mostly because I will stick things out until the bitter end (that whole ride or die thing again...).
Although my kids are grown and out of the house with their own lives, I still have regular contact with them and they are a huge part of my life. I believe in tough love though and won't co-sign any stupid decisions they make (which aren't many but, they are kids). I expect the person I'm with to do the same with their own children. Although it's not set in stone, I would prefer to date a man who doesn't have children in the home or at least not on a regular basis. I can handle a regular visitation schedule, but I have raised my children. I started young which has its advantages and disadvantages. Call me selfish if you want, but I'm at a point in my life where it's time for me to live after the many sacrifices I made to raise my own children as a single mom.
I have an Old English Bulldog who drools (a lot) that is part of the package and can be pretty high maintenance due to the health issues that come with the breed. He rescued me (it wasn't I who rescued him) and has been glued to my hip since. He's MY 'ride or die' four-legged hero and I'd be lost without him.
I am a very openminded person who doesn't judge others and I expect the same of the person I am with. You must have acceptance/tolerance of different belief systems and cultures that make us all unique. I will not compromise on this. I love learning about new cultures and societal systems.
