SWF looking for friendship now, maybe more later- just wanna take things slow- I've been on my own quite awhile now but bf I get too set in my ways, thought I'd give this a try- def not one of those "desperate" women needing somebody to take care of me by any means - & not really lonely - just thought it's time I'd see what or who's out there

Ok About Me:: I'm a Laid Back kind of gal that enjoys having a good time/ I have one daughter who got married a couple of years ago & is now about to give birth to their 1st baby ( a boy)- he'll be the 1st grandchild on either side (of hers or his family), so we are all beyond excited- They are a Huge part of my life- however, I'm still basically on my own & after getting thru the "empty nest" phase - thought it was time I kinda needed to "get a life" of my own- LOL.

I'm a Navy Veteran & a former Teacher as well. Most of my friends would say I'm a witty, easily amused, loyal & generous friend. I love riding but mainly just for fun- not transportation. My Other interests/ hobbies include going out with friends, (usually for dinner, a Movie or sometimes shopping). I've always enjoyed photography, camping, fishing, riding, reading, & learning new things, especially in the Social Studies areas (History, Geography, etc... My 1st Bachelors Degree was in High School Studies so I would be able to Teach that field- subjects that I could then Teach- but wound up teaching Special Educ since there were no openings n the Soc Studies field- Spec Educ was an Add on degree), so yep- one of those pseudo geeks in some ways- I like documentaries of historical drama & fiction, crime dramas like the ID Channel- (haven't made the Addict of the week just yet but ?? LOL) - also love a good action or comedy flick & Scifi as well. I'm not that old but most of the neighbors around here & their kids kinda look at me like "that little 'ol lady with the cats" (only have 2 Ha!!) but they all know I love animals & am the unofficial Aunt to not only the kids around here, but to the neighborhood pets as well - & always can be counted on for a dog-sitting job if needed. I used to be a great cook but don't see the need for doing that a lot anymore since it's just me

I'm a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church just south of Calhoun & really enjoy the friendships I have made since I began attending there a few years ago- I had some unexpected health probs last year so my attendance wasn't as much as I would've liked but am trying to get back into a more steady attendance now. I adore our a Pastor - he is such a Wonderful Man & always preaches from his heart- he & his wife have had a really rough year but they are as tough as nails- both just amaze me!

Basically I feel attracted to a man who is Honest, Kind, Compassionate, Has a Good Sense of Humor, (but without being raunchy, Sarcastic, or Demeaning towards others, including me) & is Intelligent. Honesty, Intelligence, & Humor are probably the 3 Most Important features I'm interested in. I'd love to be able to meet a single gentleman that I can carry on an intelligent conversation with, (but not someone who comes across as a "Know it All"). If he can make laugh too, that'd be Awesome!!
